Chamberlain GmbH Professional Products is proud to unveil a garage door operator with an AC motor and automatic learn force sensing.

The new 5580 is the only garage door operator with an AC motor that has been able to meet the new EN and IEC regulator requirements (EN60335-2-95). TÜV Rheinland has verified performance and safety testing.   Testing on the 5580 to the new 400N impact force regulations has been verified by TÜV Rhineland for doors weighing up to 110 kg with a maximum area of 13.5 square meters.

The 5580 garage door operator features the same powerful 230V AC motor as its predecessors, but with the added safety benefit of force sensing technology.

In addition, the 5580 features a super-heterodyne radio receiver that provides superb range performance and a 3-channel mini-remote control with rolling code for added security. The opener’s mechanical limits have proven durable through years of use in the field. The old “T” rail is replaced with a new 30mm low-profile C-rail as the standard rail system.
